PROFESSOR BARRÃOZINHO Marcos Aurelio (Lelo) - Professor Barrãozinho was born in the city of Recife in the northeast of Brazil. He began Capoeira at the age of three with his father Mestre Barrão, whom he accompanied to his classes, Capoeira events and street rodas. Professor Barrãozinho's passion for Capoeira has lead him to focus on nothing but his studies and his training. At the age of nine ...

if you want to lose weight and gain muscle mass and flexibility all at the same time, practice soley the jinga for an hour or so per day, you will be surprised at how you lose weight and gain balance and flexiblity, eventually you can start to exaggerate your jinga where you almost leave your feet you're so light on them
I learned all the moves when I was in capoeira lesson. I am much better at capoeira.
Because you may practise pushups then pullups and you have to train with your cartwheel called Au and handstand in capoeira. It may help you if you do exercise alot everyday single I promise I won't lie to you.
I am capoerista and I'm here to train in Athens Marousi lessons with my teacher.
CAPOEIRA BABY!!!!!!! Muito bom
Please know that I say this as a practitioner of Jow Ga Kung Fu and Capoeira. Capoeira is one of the most fun and spirited disciplines a person can practice. It's down right infective. I don't train in Capoeira for the same reasons as with Jow Ga because it wasn't developed for the same reasons. If you want to know what Capoeira is, take some classes with a teacher you like. You will get more out of one class then you can get out of any video.
Like MrLou2serious said, the Angolans brought Capoeira to Brazil. But who brought Angolans to Brazil?
No, you don't understand. Because I just said it was taken. I never said it appeared in Portugal! And I think you don't know the difference between that, that's why you are so disturbed about my comments, thinking I'm demoting your African ancestors, which was never my purpose.
That's why you cannot say who it belongs to! Yes, the moors counquered Portugal around 700BC, so everthing that happened in Portugal between the moors' legacy belongs to moors, not to the Portuguese. So, if t was taken by the Portuguese from Africa to Brazil, Capoeira, in the way we know it today, it's Portuguese! Anybody knows where or how it started, the only thing we know is that it songs are in Portuguese! Of course, there is a lot of ancient roots, especially African, connected to Capoeira.
You're not looking at it realistically. You are not informed enough to do so. There are MANY examples of Capoeiristas with able to complete with other martial artists and not having problems with stamina. But you will only see what you want to see.
I am just looking at it realistically also I have seen it put up against other martial arts, it is usually 50/50 but the most common thing though is they always lose within 2 to 3 mins due to being tired.
By your comments, it is clear that you have already fallen prey to Capoeira's 'trickery' or malicia... lol...
Dona Maria do Camboatá! Ela chega na venda, ela manda botá!
Haha! She wants to learn 'trickery'?! You cannot learn malicia in a day!
The Portuguese never taught it to anyone. Neither did they learn it from Africans. Did they bring it to Brazil. Of course through ships using guns and steel to sell to African nations to manipulate them into conflict.
But I'M NOT SAYING IT IS PORTUGUESE! I'm just saying that was the portuguese that took it from Africa to Brasil!
I love how throughout this entire series she gets away with just speaking spanish.
It's been proven as FACT by a scholar of University of South Carolina press to have direct roots from Africa. Portuguese had nothing to do with capoeira until the 1930's when they began whitening it up.
Capoeira is not deadly we play not fight
I'm not saying it belongs to european, portuguese, african or to brasilian. I'm just saying it was taken from the portuguese from africa to brasil. And I don't need to search in the internet, my brother has a master in physical education and his thesis was about capoeira. Me and him pratice capoeira since 2001. And, for you information, the information you have in your face is likely not true, as the most part of the information on internet! Do you even know who Nenel is? I know him personally.
That why this martial art is not Brazilian, nor African. It is Portuguese. By the time, Africa was being colonized by the Portuguese, specially the territories that today correspond to Angola, Cape Verde, etc, where Capoeira came from, associated with mystical and religious cults. Of course, it was not exactly taught by the Portuguese, but belong to a Portuguese legacy.
Yes, I am!
I have a little problem regarding cartwheel and handstand
Also the moors did conquer Portugal back around 700 BC and before that the romans were there. The romans learned and stole from ancient khemet(Egypt) many secrets and teachings so again when I say African (moors)(khemet) it dates back thousands of years. This art was practiced before any man of white skin walked the earth.
The Angolians brought capoeira to Brazil. But like I said it was a different name in Africa and therefore it is an African Montu combat art.
Before being Brazilian and African, it was Portuguese!
This art existed way before it came to Brazil. It's from Africa and it's practiced under a different name.
"Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated" : Rahs Al Ghul and Bane both were talking about capoeria when they said that.
